These units measure the amount of air drawn into the engine which is the most critical determinant utilized by the ECU to optimize the air / fuel mixture. Any malfunction of this device will result in rough idle, poor performance, reduced mileage, and eventually no start.
The Python Plus Air Flow Meter
Potentiometer is tested and replaced if the integrity of ceramic substrate, resistors, and conductor straps fail.
Door return spring is preloaded to OEM specifications.
Wiper tension is adjusted to optimize sweep pattern.
Wiper is replaced if contact points are worn.
Fuel pump contact springs are adjusted to the proper on/off alignment.
Idle mixture adjusting screw is set to OEM specifications.
Doors are checked for cracks, dents, and bent alignment posts.
All closures are coated to achieve maximum air seal.
Temperature sensor (if required) is tested and replaced if necessary.
The final assembly is tested to preset intake vacuum ranges to simulate variations of performance levels.
